Nelvis Alvarez has received the promotion of Multicultural Outreach Manager of the Office of Family and Community Outreach in Denver Public Schools(DPS). Alvarez has over 20 years of experience working in implementing community outreach initiatives and helping families to have access to information, tools, strategies, and resources to improve their quality of life. She has been working for DPS since 2014.
Alvarez has dedicated her DPS career to building rapport and trusting relationships with students, parents, staff, and community members.“My job is my passion. I feel privileged and honored to have the opportunity to be of service to our students, families and community members,” she says. Alvarez is a Sociologist who graduated from the Catholic University Andrés Bello in Caracas-Venezuela and obtained a Professional Teacher License in Florida.
